Deputy PM says Russian food inflation at 7.5–8% in 2023
MOSCOW, Dec 28 (PRIME) -- Food inflation in Russia at the end of 2023 will not exceed the general price growth expected at the level of 7.5–8%, Deputy Prime Minister Viktoria Abramchenko told PRIME on Thursday.
“At the end of the year, as we said earlier, food inflation will not be higher than the general one of 7.5–8%,” she said.
Deputy Prime Minister said that such a figure was managed to keep thanks to the prices of fruits and vegetables, among other things.
There is not and will not be a shortage of eggs in Russia, the market is “more than fully” provided with eggs, Abramchenko also said. The prices will stabilize after the New Year, now there is a high demand in the country, but there are no preconditions for the deficit, she added.
